Our Qualified Coaching Staff
During my career I qualified as a finalist at the 1988 and 1992 British Olympic Trials and finished my competitive career as Conference Champion in the 500yards freestyle while studying in the U.S. 1998 saw me move to the sport of Triathlon in an attempt to get fit again. Like many others I raised cash for charity and entered the London Triathlon not really sure what it was all about. First out of the water by 2 minutes and then 8th out of the first transition, after a great start it was downhill from this point, but I caught the bug! Slowly I got the hang of the sport and did some bike and running training and since then I have competed at the Europeans and Worlds as an Age Grouper, never finishing outside of the top 5 on the swim section. Now is the time to give some of that swimming experience back through these coached sessions.

Due to the years of swim training, I had a good understanding of the mechanics of swimming and I quickly progressed through my ASA preliminary and onto my ASA teachers certificates which allowed me to teach swimming. Having worked in a local pool for numerous years teaching ages ranging from babies to the 50plus classes I needed a new challenge and took the relevant American red cross teaching and life guarding qualifications and spent a summer teaching swimming to children and young adults in Florida. Having returned from my travels I was then asked to come and help teach these qualifications to Camp America candidates for the following summer. This I enjoyed immensely.
